The storekeeper supports the daily operation, maintenance, and courier activities at assigned warehouse. Responsible for all incoming and outgoing inventory, inspection and tracking of items, distributing products to requestors, and maintaining the overall inventory in the warehouse.
The primary work location for this position is Rawhide Energy Station and provides backup support to other purchasing/warehouse personnel at Platte River's headquarters location.

Essential duties and responsibilities

- Maintains relationships with carriers and monitors delivery schedules to and from the warehouse.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times to both internal and external customers.
- Responsible for inventory receiving process and ensuring completeness of incoming shipments of materials and assists with unloading.
- Inspects and verifies incoming inventory against purchase order and resolves any issues from damage or other shipping discrepancies.
- Assembles shelves and ensures proper stocking of inventory to maintain an organized warehouse.
- Tracks and keeps accurate records of new inventory by taking digital picture and tracking in asset software database.
- Performs inventory counts and audits per generated schedule or as requested.
- Serves as courier to transport and distribute products, parts, and supplies from warehouse locations to requestors based on requisition information.
- Ensures the warehouse is clean and well organized to facilitate daily operations and ensure safety.
- Operates forklift or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store inventory materials.
- Collaborates with purchasing department to resolve issues with purchasing invoices.
- Processes outgoing shipments.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Works safely and demonstrates safe work practices.
- Assists with backup coverage for other warehouse at Headquarters location.
- Assists with backup coverage for purchasing at Rawhide location
- Attends department and safety meetings and trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This position has no supervisory or lead role responsibilities.
The following are required:
- Proficient using computers and Microsoft office and asset management software.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to safely use a forklift and other equipment.
- Skilled in planning and organization.
- Ability to work overtime ( >40 hours/week) when required
Education
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Required: One year of prior experience as warehouse clerk, shipping/receiving clerk; or similar role in inventory management.
- Preferred: Three years of work experience in a warehouse environment.
- Current driver's license and ability to remain insurable under Platte River's vehicle liability policy.
- Current forklift operator certification or ability to obtain.
