The Installation Manager is a remote position, but travels regularly to manage installations and/or relocation of Ipsen equipment. The ideal candidate will live in close proximity to a major airport to promote efficient scheduling of travel.

Position Summary

Ipsen's Installation Manager is responsible to manage and ensure success of furnace installations in the US and internationally. This includes understanding/learning the requirements for installing Ipsen Vacuum Furnaces, managing a team of skilled installation engineers, managing quoting activities, coordinating resources, and ensuring efficient and timely execution of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates annual sales targets provides monthly sales forecasts.
  • Identifies team requirements and hires and develops installation engineers.
  • Project management of all turnkey and relocation projects.
  • Review requirements of installations and determine best course for completion of the job.
  • Coordinates with sales and technical teams as need for project delivery.
  • Prepares installation quotes based on customer RFQs.
  • Works closely with the outside and inside sales teams to close sales opportunities for installations.
  • Builds and manages a network of subcontractors to drive timely completion of projects and ensure revenue delivery.
  • Cultivates internal relationships with sales, engineering, finance, operations, marketing, and other support departments to make sure the installation teams have what they need to succeed.
  • Manage installation schedules to ensure alignment between internal Ipsen installation resources and external partners and providers.
  • Plan and execute site surveys to establish installation plans, either in person or through technical assets located throughout North America.
  • Attends and participates in project kick-off meetings for key customers with internal stakeholders.
  • Manages and monitors improvement processes and tools for delivery and quality improvement, increased operating efficiency, increased customer satisfaction and cost reduction.
  • Gathers and disseminates competitive intelligence to the team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in a service organization with a proven track record of successfully executing large and complex installations of capital equipment
  • Prior management experience highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven communication ability to build and lead effective and diverse teams.
  • Possess strong project management, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Relevant experience with ERP/CRM applications is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of rigging, pipefitting, high voltage electrical hookups, closed loop cooling systems, welding, etc. to execute large scale installations.
  • Ability to coordinate internal teams and external contractors to effectively execute installations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to travel as needed domestically and internationally up to 90%
