The Phoenix Theatre Company, a LOA LORT D Theatre and Arizona’s largest professional regional theatre, seeks a Will Call Associate.

About The Phoenix Theatre Company

Located in the heart of the Central Arts District close to downtown Phoenix, our beautiful 14-acre campus includes three theaters, a restaurant and bar, rehearsal halls, administrative offices, costume, scenic, prop, lighting and paint shops, all on one site. We produce a wide range of theatre, from full scale musicals to comedies, dramas and original new work. Our community service programs have gained national attention. With a $9 million annual operating budget, and celebrating our 100th Season, we offer 10-12 diverse productions every season as well as a growing Festival of New American Theatre.

This is a part time position.

Job Summary

The Will Call Associate is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while in the Box Office to all patrons of The Phoenix Theatre Company. This position manages the Will Call window before and during shows, primarily in the evenings and weekends.

Organizational Relationships

  • Reports to the Director of Patron Experience
  • Works in collaboration with the Sales Team

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Handles inbound and in person sales calls and patron inquiries; handling and managing patron relationships is the most crucial component of this role
  • Acts as Will Call expert alongside other sales associates, greeting patrons, selling tickets, upselling subscriptions, soliciting donations, answering questions.
  • Identify and share trends, and call drivers
  • Conducts special sales or promotions during Will Call and/or Intermission, including subscription campaigns and holiday promotions in the lobby
  • Assists with outbound performance changes, cancelations and development call campaigns as necessary

Methods of Accountability

Methods of Accountability are determined by the duties and responsibilities outlined above along with the following:

  • Frequent real-time feedback from the Director of Patron Experience
  • Quarterly Performance Reviews provided by the Director of Patron Experience
  • A right to Progressive Discipline as outlined in the Employee Handbook if deemed necessary
  • Patron feedback
  • Timeliness of completing projects according to deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in sales
  • Advocacy-level customer service skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional etiquette and work ethic
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Data management skills and abilities
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Must be able to work well in teams as well as independently
  • Superior attention to detail is imperative
  • Must be able to function in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
