Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Health & Safety Analyst to join our team. The role may be located at any major NGMS campus.

The Staff Health & Safety Analyst:

  • Evaluates health/safety programs to recognize, eliminate, evaluate and control occupational health/safety hazards or environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace or facility that may cause injury, sickness, impaired health or well-being, or significant discomfort and inefficiency among workers or citizens of the community.
  • Coordinates the assessments of all workplace environments by analyzing work operations and processes, materials, equipment, and work habits of employees; measures the magnitude of exposure to workers of all environmental hazards by selecting or devising methods and instrumentation suitable for such measurements; and presents specific conclusions and recommendations to appropriate management groups.
  • Prepares rules, standards, and procedures as necessary to promote the safe and healthful conduct of all work practices and the prevention of hazardous or nuisance exposure to the surrounding community.
  • Directs epidemiologic studies to discover possibilities of the presence of occupational disease and to establish or improve threshold limit values or standards as guides for the maintenance of health and efficiency.
  • Assists supervision in educating employees on practices, precautions, and procedures established to minimize health and safety outcomes.
  • Reviews present and proposed standards and surveys new installations.
  • Audits programs and conditions at all facilities; provides written reports of findings with recommendations for improvement (where needed); and follows up on implementation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety sciences, biological sciences or public health with a minimum of 14 years of experience , a Master's degree as described above with a minimum of 12 years of experience or PhD degree as described above with a minimum of 9 years experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of affects and control for Radiofrequency radiation, laser operation, radioactive materials, general physical and chemical agents as well as general safety rubrics including but not limited to overhead cranes, electrical safety, pressure vessels, construction operations.
  • Must currently hold a professional certification in either safety or industrial hygiene and be willing to achieve professional certification in the missing certification within 3years.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in safety sciences, biological sciences or public health with professional certification in either safety (CSP) or industrial hygiene (CIH)


Salary Range: 111400 - 193400


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
